Infrastructure · Fixed-scope project

Your infrastructure, set up once. And ready to be brought up again the same way.

We set up the complete foundation —network, private connectivity, entry-point security, Kubernetes, databases, monitoring and the automated path to production— in whatever cloud you have, in your data center or in both. We deliver it to you working, documented and written as code, so that your team can rebuild it identically whenever it needs to.

It is a fixed-scope project, with the scope and deliverable agreed from the start, not a block of hours.

The infrastructure no one can put together again

In many companies, infrastructure was put together by hand, piece by piece and in a hurry: a network configured by someone who is no longer there, a server no one dares to touch, a site security padlock that expires without warning. It works, until it has to be repeated: an identical testing environment, a second site, an audit or a move to another cloud.

The costly part is not setting it up: it is not being able to set it up the same way again. Every difference between what was tested and what runs in production is a failure waiting for its day.

Symptoms your operation already recognizes

  • «No one really knows what is in the cloud or who created it.»

Technologyaccounts, networks and permissions that grew without a blueprint.

  • «To connect the data center with the cloud, we opened a port to the internet.»

Securityan exposed door where there should be a private link.

  • «The testing environment does not resemble production.»

Operationswhat passed in testing fails at release.

  • «The site's security padlock expired and we found out from the customer.»

Digital leadershipa site down because of something that could have been foreseen.

  • «If we lose the server or the region, we do not know how long it would take us to rebuild.»

Executive managementcontinuity that depends on one person's memory.

A complete foundation, delivered as a project

We design and set up, in one go, the foundation your systems will run on, and we deliver it to you working. Everything is written as code: the same description that brought up your infrastructure can bring it up again, identically, in another account, another region or a testing environment. Your team also receives the documentation to operate it without depending on us.

In your cloud.

AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Linode or another. We design with each one's own services, without tying you to a provider you did not choose.

In your data center.

On your own servers, with the same discipline as in the cloud: everything described as code and documented.

Hybrid.

The sensitive parts in-house and the rest in the cloud, joined by private links that do not go over the internet.

And if your system lives in another cloud today, we move it too: we migrate from Oracle Cloud or another platform, with the method tested beforehand on a sample and every object verified on arrival.

What the foundation includes

We choose with you what your case needs: not everything always applies, and nothing is added from a catalog.

  • Network and VPC.

Networks, subnets, routes and access rules designed in layers, so that each system sees only what it needs.
  • Private connectivity.

Site-to-site VPN to connect your data center with the cloud, or one cloud with another, and private links such as PrivateLink to use cloud services without going over the internet.
  • Load balancers.

Traffic distributed across several servers, with health checks that set aside the one that fails.
  • Web application firewall (WAF).

Public or in your data center —AWS WAF, Cloudflare, Azure Front Door, ModSecurity or another—, to stop common attacks before they reach your application.
  • nginx and reverse proxies.

The entry point to your services: routes, encryption and rules in a single place.
  • Kubernetes.

Managed in the cloud or on your servers —EKS, AKS, GKE, Rancher, OpenShift or another—, so that your systems start the same way in each environment and recover on their own from common failures.
  • Serverless services.

An API gateway that invokes functions in the cloud, such as API Gateway with Lambda, for what is best paid for per use.
  • Databases.

Managed in the cloud or on your servers —PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle or another—, with backups and role-based access.
  • DNS and encryption.

Domains, private zones and the encryption of your sites (TLS), with automatic renewal and a warning before each expiration.
  • Observability and monitoring.

Metrics, logs and alerts connected from day one, so that you find out about a failure before your customers do.
  • CI/CD.

The automated path your systems take to production —GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps or another—, with tests and security analysis on every change.

Everything is described as code —Terraform for the infrastructure and Ansible for server configuration, or the tool your team already uses— and delivered with its documentation.

What you receive when the project closes

The infrastructure, working.

Set up, tested and ready for your systems to run on top of it.

The code that describes it.

In your repository, to bring it up again identically in another account, another region or a testing environment. It describes the infrastructure, not your data: your data travels with your backups.

The documentation.

A blueprint of what is there, why it is that way and how it is operated: networks, access, backups and what to do if something fails.

The handover to your team.

A handover session with whoever will operate it, so that you do not depend on us.

It is agreed as a fixed-scope project: scope, deliverable and acceptance criteria defined before starting, not a block of hours.

Why it is almost never right the first time

Setting up a server is easy. Setting up a foundation that holds, that can be audited and that can be repeated is something else, because it requires:

Thinking in layers from the start.

The network, access and entry-point security are decided before the first server. Fixing them later costs a move.

Joining worlds without opening doors.

Connecting your data center with the cloud, or two clouds with each other, without leaving anything exposed to the internet.

What was tested is what runs.

A single change made by hand is enough for the description as code to stop being true and for the rebuild to no longer come out the same.

What expires in silence.

The encryption of your sites, and the keys and permissions that expire or are left over, which no one reviews until the day they fail.

Leaving it in your team's hands.

An infrastructure that only the person who set it up understands is not finished.

That is why the deliverable is not only the infrastructure: it is the ability to bring it up again the same way.

This is not a whiteboard idea

It is the same foundation we use today to operate several AWS accounts, and the same discipline we apply in our clients' data centers:

  • The foundation of several AWS accounts that we operate today: networks, private links, managed databases and functions exposed as APIs.

  • Kubernetes in a global insurer's own infrastructure, within a regulated sector.

  • A bank's digital account opening, with private links between the cloud and its data center.

  • An e-commerce testing environment, replicated exactly so that what works in testing works the same in production.

  • Almost a terabyte moved from one cloud to another, verified object by object.

What Hábil does

We design the foundation with you, set it up, test it and deliver it to you with its code and its documentation. If you later want us to operate it, we agree on that separately; if not, your team is ready to do it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to switch clouds?
No. We set it up in the one you already have —AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Linode or another—, in your data center or in both.
Why as a fixed-scope project and not by the hour?
Because you are buying a result: the foundation working, documented and as code. The scope, the deliverable and how it is accepted are agreed before starting.
Who runs it afterwards?
Your team, with the documentation and the handover session; or us, if you so agree.
What if I already have something set up?
We review it first. Sometimes it makes sense to describe what already exists as code; sometimes, to redo a part. We look at it in the first conversation.
Can you move us from another cloud?
Yes. We migrate from Oracle Cloud or another platform, with the method tested beforehand on a sample and every object verified on arrival.

Start with the blueprint

Tell us what you need to bring up and where. In the first conversation, at no cost, we review what the foundation would include, what deliverable you would receive and how it would be brought up again the same way.
